The Scene:
I had been at my first and current "big girl" job for a few months and it was time for annual performance reviews. I fill out my performance sheet. Submit it. Wait for my boss to fill out his performance sheet about me. Then wait for the actual one on one meeting to take place. It's later in the afternoon and the time has come for my meeting. I walk in my boss' office with a notepad in hand (just in case) and the meeting starts. Everything is going well and my boss was pleased with my performance the past few months...then this happens...
Dialogue:
Boss man: So what do you hope to be doing in 5 years?
Me: I hope to still be dancing.
I'm serious people...I said those words to my boss! My new boss!. I'm really hoping he has forgotten about that by now. Of course he restated his question to mean in my career so then I gave a more appropriate answer...probably something like "oh I want to be a manager" HA! Looking back it is hilarious now, but after it sunk in what I had said...I was soooooo embarassed.
