Green Lantern

Source

After watching this movie, I am now ready to see the Avengers movie...woo hoo. This might have been my least favorite super hero movie. To me it was kind of slow, but I heart Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and it did have it's good parts, plus it was the most interesting thing to watch on the plane, so I finished it (truth be told I would have finished it anyways just because I'm that obsessed with movies if you haven't noticed).

p.s. In case you are wondering why I was on a plane...get ready those posts are coming!

Thor

I totally forgot to review this movie! We rented this movie back in September. It looked corny to me in the previews, but I actually really liked this movie. Natalie Portman was a little strange to me in this movie, but I guess she's kind of quirky in all her movies. I also liked how the cast wasn't full of A-listers...sometimes it's nice to see new abs faces.

I didn't give this movie a chance when it was in theaters, but we decided to rent it after friends told us they liked it. This movie ended up being pretty funny. It was definitely worth the rental. We even have a favorite new phrase that can work in many different situations. "I have four words for you, I. Want. Dessert. Go. (point finger)".  Of course if people don't know what you're talking about, they will probably look at you weird and with a "did you seriously just say that" face, but to us it's funny...ha ha.

From Drab to Fab Day 5

And to finish it off...the Lamp:

Before: boring ol' white lamp that served more as a necklace holder than a lamp. When I finally accumulated too many necklaces that they started falling off if a light breeze hit, I decided to move them to a more secure location...ha ha. Upon removing the necklaces I realized just how dingy my lamp and lamp shade looked...ewwww

After: Ta-da!! Looks brand spankin' new! New shade. New color. New pretty thing to look at and maybe even turn on now...below are the pics of everything coming together

Burlap Pottery Barn shade...I love that you can kind of see through it

Fresh paint...this is the same Valspar paint I used on the frame

All ready to be plugged in!

Pretty! It has a romantic feel to me when the light is on and I love that you can see the bulb!
I hope you have enjoyed this week of updates! Have you updated anything recently?

From Drab to Fab Day 4

The Window Bench:

Before: So many things wrong with this picture 1. it's sooo dark 2. the pillows are velvet...yes velvet 3. the pillows are missing a lot of beads (they used to be on my bed back in the day and when I would take them off I didn't gently toss them aside I pretty much hurled them into the corner...my bad)

After: Look how much brighter it is!! The color really pops off the navy blue bench cushion. Both sets of pillows I found on O.com and are Steve Madden (I think I might have a little obsession with Steve Madden...over half my shoes are that brand). I'm still looking for a small middle pillow. I think I would like it in the lighter color maybe mixed with tan or white. Please let me know if y'all stumble upon something I might like!

From Drab to Fab Day 3

Pretty Frame:

Before: Pretty black and white picture with a few dings in the frame from moving back home and in and out of storage a few times.

After: Brand new color! LOVE IT! and I tried my hand at distressing...not too shabby. I'm not sure where exactly I'm going to put this, but I know it will find a home soon. I used Valspar spray paint in the only aqua/teal color Lowes had (I don't remember the name)

From Drab to Fab Day 2

The scarf issue:

Before: All of my scarves plus my favorite tote clinging to the one built-in hanger on my door

After: I can finally see all my different scarves!! I got this idea from Erica who did the same thing with her scarves. Genius!!

Sneak peak: can you guess what color I added to my room?!?!
